Bristol Bites: Innovation and ingenuity

From our Editor:

Well, it turns out that Bristol is one of the most innovative cities in Britain, according to a recent study. Who knew? From the stage to the science lab, the city on The Avon remains the heartbeat of The West, alongside its formidable allies in the shape of Bath,
Exeter and other lovely locations.

London – a global megacity – has become a drag to many (even hardened cockneys). Too crowded, too congested, too costly. Why not move to Bristol, where its green and pleasant pastures and woodlands warm the soul and make the heart pound? But it comes at a price.

Bristol is now less affordable for property rentals than London (scroll down to our property section for more details). So, The Avon finally supersedes Old Mother Thames. Not exactly an honour this sensational city sought. Pity our poor students having to cope with climbing costs. They may be irritating now, but they are the future. They will fuel tech innovation and our creative industries. They will pay our social care bill. This correspondent has said it before, but it all speaks to affordable housing. Or lack of. So, councillor, off the sun lounger and off the golf club bar stool and into the chamber and the committee room to help the young and old you purport to represent.

On a far more frightening note, the fleet-footed Welsh wing wizard Louis Rees-Zammit is coming to Brizzle. LRZ is bound to bond with Bears legend Ellis Genge. Hold on to your hearts and hats, ladies and gents. Chaos is coming.
